March 2019 - Our Economic Neighbors: Canada and Mexico
About the Webinar
Join Speaker and Economist Catherine Putney as she presents listeners with "Our Economic Neighbors: Canada and Mexico". This webinar will discuss the economic traits of Mexico, Canada, and the US. Although these countries share the same continent, their economies are unalike in many ways. Individual traits such as demographics, employment, wages, and specialization have large impacts on the health of each economy. This webinar will provide detailed information and analysis on the aforementioned traits and how they influence each North American nation.
In addition to looking at the independent traits of each country, we will take a dynamic approach. Each of the North American economies relies on the others in some way, shape, or form. Therefore, we will present trade patterns among all three nations. This comes at an appropriate time given that the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), a trade deal intended to replace NAFTA, is potentially on brink of completion.
- Understand the economic drivers for each North American country
- Understand growth expectations for all three nations
- Know what to expect from the USMCA trade deal, if finalized
- Understand the economic advantages and disadvantages among Canada, Mexico, and the US
What will attendees receive?
Attendees will walk away with a better understanding of how the North American economies operate, both independently and interdependently. They will gain insight into the economic advantages and disadvantages that Canada, Mexico, and the US have in their relationships with one another. As we head toward the potential inception of a new trade deal (the USMCA), a clear grasp of the nuances of the North American economy will prepare attendees for what lies ahead.
